Dyslexia is often thought of as a reading problem experienced by intelligent people. However, dyslexia is not limited to literacy issues. It is an alternative way of thinking, primarily using pictures or images. Such visual thinking enables individuals to view the world from many different perspectives and in creative ways. Unfortunately, it can also negatively impact a range of areas, including literacy and numeracy, motor skills, organisation, focus, time management and auditory processing. This can have a significant affect on the person’s life.
Hi, I am Angi Fiaola and I am the founder of Dyslexia BOP.
My passion about dyslexia stems from the personal experience of watching my dyslexic son struggle at school. I knew he was very bright, but he thought he was stupid because his classmates achieved academic results while he was being left behind. This first hand experience enables me to truly understand the frustration, anxiety and worry that can accompany dyslexia. Its a privilege to see the positive changes when we apply the Davis® Programmes - seeing these results is what makes me so passionate about being a facilitator.
